No. Most students start with zero experience. If you can write by hand, you already have the skill — the only missing piece is knowing how to apply it.
I get this one a lot! The 21 Day Challenge is about the habit: 21 days of daily drawing exercises that take you deep into the foundations of character design, faces, bodies, expressions, objects, so the skill actually sticks. PowerUp has a different focus. It uses the dice method to help you create complete, original characters you can use for your shop, your products, or your own projects. Think of the 21 Day Challenge as building your foundation, and PowerUp as putting it to work on finished characters. Many students do both, in whichever order fits where they're at.
Paper works perfectly. The 21 Day Challenge is designed for any medium: pencils, markers, watercolour, or Procreate.
Most beginners notice real improvement within a few weeks. The 21 Day Challenge builds a solid foundation in just three weeks — even 15 minutes a day adds up quickly.
Very little. For traditional drawing, all you need is a pencil and paper — any paper will do to begin with. For digital drawing, you’ll need an iPad and the Procreate app (a one-time purchase of around $17 USD).
No. Tatyana’s own story is proof of this — she didn’t draw as a child, showed no “special ability”, and didn’t pick up a pencil seriously until she was 29. Talent is not a prerequisite; consistency is.
